Marriage and the conventional understanding of the marital bond seem to be evolving concepts for the present generation. The contemporary scenario witnesses couples facing challenges in maintaining long-lasting relationships, often breaking the traditional threefold bond within a short span. However, a remarkable story has surdata-faced, highlighting the enduring love between a husband and wife.

In the Murarai area of Birbhum district, West Bengal, Arun Prasad and Sangita, a couple married for 27 years, exemplify a deep connection. Despite sharing joys and hardships throughout their marriage, the couple data-faced the one challenge that remained unmet—parenthood. Over two decades passed, numerous hospital visits and pilgrimages were undertaken, but the dream of having children remained elusive.


Two years ago, they sought assistance from an IVF center in Kolkata. Amidst the ongoing medical examinations and procedures, the unforeseen tragedy of the COVID-19 pandemic struck, claiming the life of Arun Prasad. The loss was particularly devastating for Sangita, left to navigate life without children and with minimal support from in-laws.


Amidst the grief, a call from the IVF center brought unexpected hope. The doctors informed Sangita that she could still conceive using her late husband's preserved semen. Determined to carry forward Arun Prasad's legacy, she chose to undergo the process. In a poignant turn of events, on december 12th, Sangeeta Pandanti successfully gave birth to a baby girl at Rampur Hat Vaidya college Hospital.


This story not only defies the conventional narrative surrounding marriage and fertility but also underscores the profound love and commitment that transcends the physical presence of a spouse. Sangita's decision to bring a child into the world using her late husband's genetic material exemplifies the enduring power of love and the lengths to which one can go to preserve a family's legacy.
