Phoenix Mall Closed; Public Access to Mall Restricted...?
Phoenix Mall of Asia's management was ordered by Bengaluru police on saturday to close the facility for the next fifteen days because it was creating traffic havoc in the city's north. The recently opened mall has been ordered by City police Commissioner B Dayananda to cease operations from december 31 to january 15. police claim that the mall's insufficient parking spaces are seriously congesting traffic and upsetting shoppers. Bengaluru police predicted traffic bottlenecks in the Hebbal district, which already experiences numerous traffic snarls on a typical day because the New Year and long weekends are approaching.According to Bengaluru police Commissioner B Dayananda, who visited the mall himself, it has turned into a hub for traffic problems. "The mall is a 12-story building with two basement floors and a total area of 86421 square meters from the ground to the third floor," he stated. Only two basements in the mall, however, can accommodate 2324 automobiles and motorcycles. Due to insufficient parking space, patrons' cars are backed up at the mall's entrance, preventing them from entering through the main doors. As a result, vehicles are halted for extended periods of time on both sides of the main carriageway of the highway due to traffic congestion on the service road that runs alongside the main route. Additionally, the police mandated that the mall have enough parking for 10,000 automobiles and 10,000 motorcycles.According to authorities, the mall's high-volume exhaust sound speakers are causing a public nuisance in addition to the parking facilities. Additionally, according to the order copy, "residents have complained about the noise levels, citing difficulties sleeping at night and difficulties for students to study due to the mall's exhaust blowers causing high levels of noise pollution." According to reports, the karnataka State pollution Control Board has also stated that the mall has received numerous warnings to cease its noise pollution, and the level of pollution is significantly greater than the allowed limits.
