Telangana - 6.50 Crores women travelled for Free so far, informs TSRTC

Since the start of the Mahalakshmi initiative, as many as 6.50 crore women in the state have ridden for free in state-run buses, according to the telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). Every day, officials say, Rs 10 crore worth of zero tickets are given, with an average of 27 lakh women travelling.
Telangana deputy chief minister Mallu bhatti vikramarka and transport minister Ponnam prabhakar congratulated the authorities for the effective execution of the plan at a review meeting held at the Dr. BR Ambedkar secretariat here on wednesday and assured complete assistance from the finance department.
Minister Ponnam prabhakar stated that required actions are needed to strengthen TSRTC, and that conversations on alternate sources of money were continuing, with an emphasis on sectors like as logistics, commercial, and other non-ticket income. deputy chief minister Bhatti, who also oversees the finance ministry, stated that a decision will be made shortly to release monies to TSRTC for worker dues, firm debts, provident funds (PFs), and other payments.
RTC rental bus owners are suffering several challenges, and they have indicated that they would go on strike on january 5 if their demands are not met promptly. This time, the proprietors are especially concerned about the maha Lakshmi programme, which is producing congestion and possible mileage difficulties.  The maha Lakshmi initiative provides free bus transportation in telangana through TSRTC for women.
