On the 30th sabarimala tantri Kandararu Mahesh Goganaru opened the walk on behalf of Mel Shanti murali Devasthanam for the Makara Lampu Puja. Makara jyothi Darshan, the most important pooja of Makara Lampu Puja, will be held at sabarimala on the 15th.

Every year more and more boys and girls visit sabarimala with their parents and relatives. Every year devotees bring their children and relatives' children more and more. This year devotees bring more children than usual to visit Ayyappan. In this case, a 10-year-old girl has set a record by making a pilgrimage to sabarimala for the 50th time. Abhilash Mani, who hails from Yesugon in kollam district of kerala, is an ardent devotee of Ayyappan. His daughter Aditi was only a day away from her 10th birthday, yesterday i.e. on january 3rd, she tied the knot with her father and came to sabarimala for the 50th time. The girl, Aditi, is studying in class four at a school in Egugone.
Aditi came to sabarimala with her father when she was nine months old and had darshan of Ayyappan for the first time. Since then his father has brought him to sabarimala every year during the monthly puja, mandal puja, and Makaravilakku puja. Due to this, he reached the sabarimala 50 times before the age of 10 and achieved the darshan of Ayyappan. This interest of the girl Aditi has surprised the devotees including Guruswamy.
