Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Taps Centre on AP Split Dues

A. revanth reddy visited Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Defence minister Rajnath Singh in delhi on Friday. N. Uttam Kumar reddy, the irrigation minister, accompanied him. reddy requested Sitharaman to give Rs 1,800 crore in arrears dating back to 2019 at a rate of Rs 450 crore per year under the backward regions development plan. He also requested the payment of Rs 2,233.54 crore in unpaid awards from the 15th Finance Commission to the state, as well as specific monies for the development of Hyderabad.

During his discussion with Rajnath Singh, the chief minister demanded that properties owned by the defense ministry be transferred to the state government to begin building highways and elevated corridors in Hyderabad.

Reddy also requested that 0.21 hectares of defense property be transferred to begin the building of a skywalk at Rythu Bazaar in Mehdipatnam to alleviate traffic congestion. He stated that the skywalk work was finished except for the Mehdipatnam length, which was delayed owing to a delay in the handover of defense land. Singh promised that the problem will be fixed as soon as possible.

The chief minister also requested the transfer of 83 acres of defence land in secunderabad Cantonment, where the state government intends to build a six-lane elevated corridor from paradise junction to the ORR junction on Rajiv Rahadari, connecting Karimnagar-Ramagundam from Hyderabad, as well as an 11.30 km corridor with entry and exit ramps.

He also requested the transfer of 56 acres of land to build an 18.30 km elevated corridor from paradise junction near Kandlakoya to ORR on the nagpur Highway (NH-44), of which 12.68 km will be a six-lane elevated corridor with exit and entry points in four areas and a double-decker (for Metro Rail) corridor.
