VIDEO - Passenger punches IndiGo captain after 13-hour delay due to fog

A video has surdata-faced online showing a passenger on an indigo flight from delhi to goa striking the aircraft's captain as he was delivering an announcement about delays. The video, which has been extensively circulated on social media, has elicited several replies from X users, who have advocated for action against the passenger. However, several passengers expressed anger, noting that indigo has received numerous complaints about cancellations, unjustified delays, and failure to satisfy standards.


In the footage, the captain is seen delivering a statement about delays. Suddenly, the passenger in a yellow sweatshirt approaches the captain and smacks him on the data-face. A flight attendant standing alongside the captain instantly comes to his aid and stands in front of him, attempting to resolve the problem. As disturbance develops within the cabin, another man in a sky blue sweatshirt pulls the passenger behind him.

Following the incident, the passenger, identified as Sahil Kataria, was deboarded and turned over to the Central Industrial Security Force. The captain filed a complaint against the passenger with delhi Police, and a FIR has been filed in the case. A further examination into the situation is underway. The Delhi-Goa indigo 6E2175 flight was delayed by many hours owing to severe fog in North India. According to india Herald, passengers were not told of the cause for the delay.
