YSRCP Faces Heat Over Caste-Centric Seat Allocation.!
Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna, a member of the Shettibalija community and a sitting mla from ramachandrapuram, was denied the ramachandrapuram seat and allocated the rajahmundry Rural constituency. Additionally, he is a minister in chief minister Jagan's cabinet. Simultaneously, jagan declared margani bharat Ram, another member of the Shettibalija (Gowda) community, as the candidate for rajahmundry City constituency.
The decision to allocate both rajahmundry seats to candidates from the same caste has led to objections within the YSRCP. Critics argue that such a move may not be well-received by other communities in rajahmundry, including Kapus, Kammas, weavers, and other backward castes, who constitute the majority. There are concerns that this decision could send the wrong signals and impact the party's image among various castes in the region.
As the internal discussions continue, the YSRCP leaders are evaluating the potential repercussions of giving both seats to candidates from the same caste in a region with a diverse caste composition. The final verdict on the appropriateness of Jagan's decision will likely unfold with the election results.
