HanuMan - What Went Wrong in North ?

HanuMan (Hindi) did well on its second weekend, grossing more than 11 crore, which is comparable to its first weekend. The film has already grossed over 37 crores, with a significant increase on monday due to the ram mandir inauguration holiday in the North. The picture is on track for a lifetime collection of 50 crores, which is impressive and makes it a HIT. However, based on the first reports, the trade projected the picture to gross more than 75 crores. But it will now settle for roughly 50 crores.

The film's primary flaw for the North audience was that HanuMan did not live up to their expectations of a religious film. HanuMan was more of a superhero flick with a few mythological elements. If HanuMan had included more devotional themes in its tale, it may have had a reception similar to Kantara or perhaps karthikeya 2.

Karthikeya 2 can be considered a greater success than HanuMan in the North because it began from a very low place. The first-day revenues in the North were only 7 lakhs. Then it went on to earn 30 crores during its existence, which was incredible. The Lord krishna component worked well with the north indian audience in karthikeya 2, however, HanuMan lacked a substantial religious representation of Lord Hanuman, except the final 10 minutes of the movie.
