Here's Why - Foxconn CEO Young Liu honoured with Padma Bhushan

Young Liu, the 66-year-old Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of Taiwanese technological giant Hon Hai Precision industry Co., often known as Foxconn, was given the Padma bhushan by the central government on Thursday. According to Foxconn technology Group's official website, Liu is a well-known entrepreneur and innovator with more than four decades of industry expertise.

He also launched three companies: Young Micro Systems, a motherboard firm in 1988; a northbridge and southbridge IC design company focusing on the PC chipset in 1995; and ITeX, an ITE Tech and ADSL IC design company, in 1997. Young Micro Systems merged with Foxconn in 1994, and ITeX was successfully listed on the NASDAQ in 2001. In 1978, the Taiwanese businessman graduated from National Chiao Tung university with a bachelor's degree in electrophysics. He subsequently attended the university of Southern California, where he got a master's degree in computer engineering.

Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) has been aggressively growing its influence in india, notably in the south, through a series of major investments and initiatives. The business, famed for creating apple iPhones, already has an iphone plant in tamil Nadu that employs approximately 40,000 people. Last year, a senior executive from Foxconn stated the business is preparing to increase its footprint in india with a significant investment of $1.6 billion for new development projects.
