Telangana Hyderabad - GHMC to Reverify GO 59 Applications
The BRS administration issued GOs 58 and 59 to regularise land under the Land Regularisation Scheme (LRS) in the ownership of applicants previous to the creation of the state on june 2, 2014. GO 58 allows applicants who fall below the poverty threshold to regularise plots of up to 125 square yards for free. GO 59 dealt with the regularisation of land held by non-BPL people.
The plot was regularised using GO 59, which collected the land's market value. There is a big discrepancy between the selling price and the market value of a property. Even in prime locations, if the selling price is Rs 10 crore, the market value is less than Rs 2 crore, as stated in the majority of the sale documents presented to the Sub-Registrar Office. Recently, in several urban local bodies (ULBs), notably Khammam, the GO 59 was fraudulently used, and applicants sought land regularisation even on government land, including plots designated for road development.
