Telangana Hyderabad - Police launch more Bharosa centres, Forensic lab Website
The centers have been established in bhadradri Kothagudem, Jagitial, Jangaon, Mancherial, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Peddapalli, and wanaparthy districts. The inauguration event, held digitally on tuesday, was presided over by ravi Gupta, director General of police of telangana, and Shikha Goel, Additional director General of police (Women's Safety Wing).
Shikha Goel stated on the occasion that the establishment of Bharosa facilities in 2013, which followed supreme court rules for building one-stop facilities, played a critical role in safeguarding women's protection. She commended the substantial progress achieved since then, including the help of 4,782 POCSO cases and 1,163 rape victims until december 2023.
In addition, the Bharosa initiative is devoted to promoting public awareness. The Bharosa Centres, strategically positioned throughout the state, aim to support and aid victims of crime, particularly women and children. These clinics provide survivors with safe areas where they may seek counselling, legal support, and medical care. The extension of Bharosa Centres across districts confirms the telangana State Police's commitment to improving victim-centric services and creating a safer environment for all residents, according to Shikha Goel.
Speaking at the event, DGP ravi Gupta stated that with increased expectations from various stakeholders on SFSL, it was critical to provide critical contact information, as well as information on training schedules and details of various laboratories, through an informative website, resulting in this initiative.
Ravi Gupta stated his commitment to improving the state's forensic capabilities, emphasising the critical role that forensic science plays in criminal investigations. He praised the State FSL's joint efforts and the devotion of law enforcement professionals to securing justice and public safety.
