Telangana - Wait for DSC to get longer

SIBY JEYYA
Telangana teaching job seekers are going to have to wait even longer for the massive district Selection Committee (DSC) notice, which was part of the Congress' promise during the assembly elections.

A massive DSC notice necessitates addressing complex issues such as teacher transfers, promotions of existing teachers in government and local body schools, and the all-important Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). It also includes issuing notifications, performing tests, and publicizing the TET findings, which are estimated to take at least three to four months.

Furthermore, considering the upcoming SSC Public Examinations, it is extremely doubtful that a TET notification will be released anytime soon, since instructors are busy preparing children for the Class X examinations, in addition to performing their examination obligations.

"There are concerns such as teacher transfers and promotions, as well as the administration of TET for both current and prospective teachers. A mega DSC may only be alerted if these concerns are resolved first, according to a top official. The former BRS administration approved 6,612 teaching positions, and the school education Department has already identified 4,774 new openings. Several more are anticipated to be established if the State administration exercises its right to transfer and promote existing teachers.

However, such an exercise is tied to the conduct of the TET since instructors must be promoted by the National Council for Teacher education (NCTE) guidelines. Secondary Grade teachers (SGT) must pass Paper II of the TET to advance to the job of school Assistant (SA). Similarly, TET Paper-II competence is required for school Assistants to advance to the position of Headmaster.
In the past, the education Department promoted people without taking the TET exam. However, several instructors opposed this in the High Court, which decided in favor of holding the TET for teacher promotions.

The DSC published a notification for 5,089 openings, which included 1,739 school helpers, 2,575 secondary grade teachers, 611 language pandits, and 164 physical education instructors. The remaining 1,523 special education teacher positions were not advertised owing to technical difficulties. The DSC announcement for 5,089 jobs received 1,77,502 applications.
