Telangana - Budget let down people, says Harish Rao

Leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), harish rao, reacted to the first state budget of the congress government by calling it a "let down" for the people of Telangana. On Saturday, february 10 before the assembly, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the deputy chief minister and state minister of finance, presented the Vote-on-Account budget. According to harish rao, the congress party's pledges made during the assembly elections have vanished into thin air.

Former BRS government finance minister Rao, who cautioned the administration to prepare for the fury of the agricultural community when the budget revealed that roughly Rs 3,000 crore would go towards establishment expenses such as staff pay, was approved. The budget was approved by the previous BRS government. "Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka's" allocations to important sectors, according to Rao, "have exposed the gaps between the words and deeds of the ruling party."

He stated, "To fulfill such huge promises, the government may run into financial difficulties. The government's plan to waive farm loans up to Rs. 2 lakh and implement the enhanced Rythu Bharosa will sum up to Rs. 40,000 crore and Rs. 22,000 crores, respectively." harish rao stated on Rythu Bhima that the government will need at least Rs 82,000 crore to offer coverage to tenant farmers. He said, "They are purposefully keeping quiet about the 100-day deadline that it had previously announced for the implementation of its guarantees."

Regarding the government's pledge to provide farmers with a round-the-clock electricity supply, Rao said that it had fallen short. "This will have an effect on the farming community's trust," he stated.

Rao stated that the Aasara pension plan had paid only Rs 2,000 to pensioners so far, rather than the Rs 4,000 that was promised.

Finally, Rao made fun of chief minister Revanth Reddy's claim that "we are servants engaged in people's service" by claiming that reddy was just there for the first day. "We never saw him interacting with the people directly after that," he claimed.

Rao concluded by saying that a significant sum of money would be needed to carry out the campaign promises that congress had given to the telangana people. He remarked, "This means the government might find other sources of revenue or increase taxes."
