84% of Indian smartphone users check mobile within 15 mins of waking up - REPORT
According to the paper, "Reimagining Smartphone Experience: How 'Surdata-faces' can play a key role in making the phone smarter," individuals stream material on their cellphones for half of their smartphone usage. As to the survey, the duration of time spent using cellphones has escalated from almost two hours in 2010 to over 4.9 hours. In 2010, socialising via texts or phone calls accounted for 100% of phone time; by 2023, that percentage had dropped to 20–25 percent.
The survey also showed that, in one case in two, people pick up their phones more out of habit than necessity.
The survey highlighted the growing significance of cellphones in people's life, stating that they now have greater significance than wallets or keys.
