Similar to the
telangana Kumbh Mela, the
medaram fair is considered as the biggest tribal fair in Asia. Following tribal customs, it is a four-day
event that attracts devotees from
telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and other regions. Originally a small tribal celebration, it has grown into a major pilgrimage that takes place every two years in
medaram Village in Tadvai Mandal, deep within the
mulugu district's vast forests. This year's Jathara, which was declared a State
festival in 1998, will take place from
february 21 to
february 24, 2024.
