Telangana - Illegal constructions in BRS MLA owned colleges razed down

SIBY JEYYA
On thursday, march 7, the medchal district government razed "illegal" structures in the Dundigal Institute of Aeronautical Engineering (IARE) and MLRIT, which belonged to Marri Rajasekhar reddy, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA.

The Aeronautical college and the MLRITM college at Dundigal dismantled two permanent structures and six temporary shelters because it was alleged that they were constructed unlawfully on the lakeshore property.

Officials from the irrigation and tax departments discovered that the buildings were constructed by infringing on 8.24 acres of property within the chinna Damara Cheruvu full tank level (FTL) buffer zone.

According to officials, notification was given to the management of these colleges.

There was also little conflict when several college staff members and students arrived at the scene and attempted to halt the destruction. The authorities persisted in their drive, nevertheless.

The agency discovered that a playground and a few structures had been built on chinna Damara Cheruvu during a recent survey.

Dundigal, Gandimaisamma Mandals' revenue, irrigation, and municipal authorities monitored the demolition activities on instructions from the medchal district collector.

A bulldozer is seen demolishing the structure in a video circulating on social media sites. The district collector of medchal issued the demolition orders.

The destruction on thursday took place four days after a road built to service the malla reddy Engineering college in Kamla Nagar, Gundla Pochampally municipality, was destroyed by tax authorities from the Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The authorities accused malla reddy of laying the road and unlawfully encroaching on around 2,500 square yards of hmda land.

Revanth reddy, the Chief minister, filed a complaint over Malla Reddy's road that was constructed for the engineering college while he was the malkajgiri MP. But nothing was done about it at the time.

The matter has come up again with the recent change in administration and the appointment of revanth reddy as Chief Minister. Malla reddy and his family own and operate a network of hospitals and educational facilities. Although the former minister is accused of encroaching on territory, he has refuted the accusations.

Case registered against Reddy

In the meanwhile, a dispute between BRS mla Marri Rajasekhar reddy and Alwal municipal deputy commissioner srinivas reddy led to the filing of a complaint at the Alwal police station.

Local sources state that the debate focused on whether or not to use a free Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS).

The leaders of Bharat Rashtra Samithi held dharnas throughout telangana the day before in protest of the LRS charges being collected.
