Telangana Hyderabad - Congress opposing CAA due to ‘appeasement’ says Amit Shah

SIBY JEYYA
On Tuesday, march 12, Union home minister amit shah announced the BJP's goal of securing 12 of the 17 seats in Telangana. Shah said that the NDA, led by prime minister Narendra Modi, will win back control of the federal government during the next lok sabha elections at a gathering for social media volunteers of the saffron party held at Secunderabad's Imperial Gardens.

Regarding the caa, he stated that by granting citizenship through the caa, prime minister Narendra Modi has honored refugees who are Sikh, Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain.

Additionally, he said that vote-bank politics and appeasement were the reasons behind the congress party's opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

"We had promised to bring CAA. The congress group was against CAA. Since our country's independence, the congress and the drafters of our Constitution have pledged to offer citizenship to anyone who flees persecution due to their religion from bangladesh, afghanistan, or pakistan and arrives in India. However, Shah explained, "The congress party opposed the caa because of appeasement and vote-bank politics," defending its execution.

He claimed that even though millions of people from bangladesh and pakistan traveled to india to preserve their faith and honor, they were not given indian citizenship.

He continued, saying that PM Modi honored refugees who were Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Hindu by giving them citizenship through the CAA. "They felt insulted in their own country when they were not granted citizenship," he stated.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, which expedites citizenship for undocumented non-Muslim migrants from pakistan, bangladesh, and afghanistan who arrived in india before december 31, 2014, was put into effect by the Center on Monday. Four years after the controversial law was passed by Parliament, the Center announced the regulations.

The Modi administration will immediately begin awarding indian nationality to persecuted non-Muslim migrants – Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians — from the three nations. The regulations were unveiled only days before the announcement of the lok sabha elections. The Gazette announcement said that the rules went into effect right away.

Shah listed some of the accomplishments of the Modi government, including the removal of Article 370, the building of the Lord ram temple in Ayodhya, the provision of 33% reservation for women in the lok sabha and state assemblies, the elimination of instant triple talaq, and the nation's status as the nation with the fastest-growing economy.

He went on to say that under PM Modi's leadership, India's economy is on track to become the third biggest in the world.

He claimed that vote-bank politics caused the congress party to drag out the ram mandir issue for seventy years and to boycott the consecration.

Shah said that for the last ten years, PM Modi made sure there was no corruption in government.
