The
drugs Control Administration (DCA) discovered and confiscated supplies of Etolar-P pills, a prohibited medication that contains both etodolac and paracetamol, that were being marketed illegally in the market. On Wednesday,
march 13, officers from the DCA's
karimnagar zone discovered the illegal substance Etolar-P (Etodolac & Paracetamol Tablets) during special operations. It was discovered that Punjab-based Dr. Edwin Medilabs Private Limited was producing it.
The Panchkula, Haryana-based Surewin Healthcare was the distributor of the confiscated Etolar-P medications. In a
news statement, the DCA stated that they found Etolar-P pills at Srihith Medical Agencies in Seetharampur, Karimnagar. In the interest of the general
population, the
indian government outlawed the combination of etodolac and paracetamol pills in 2018.
According to DCA
director General
v B Kamalsan Reddy, this restriction was implemented because of the possible
health concerns that this fixed-dose combination posed to
people and because it was determined that there was no therapeutic rationale for it.
On
september 7, 2018, the
indian government outlawed the production, marketing, and distribution of this medication combination for human consumption within the nation. Among the
police who conducted the
raid were P.
karthik Bharadwaj, the
drugs Inspector, and M. Srinivasulu, the Assistant
director of Karimnagar.
The DCA stated in a
news statement that more investigations would be conducted and legal action would be taken against all of the offenders.
