Massive amounts of mangoes and
fruit ripening agents were confiscated during raids on five godowns where mangoes were purportedly chemically ripened by the
hyderabad police and
ghmc food safety authorities. The raids took place at the city's
sultan Bazaar, Habeebnagar, Bhavaninagar, Chaderghat, and Afzalgunj.

fruit dealers were utilizing ethylene sachets and carbide powder to ripen the mangoes in their godowns. The dealers were ripening and storing the
fruits in violation of the law. The official stated that the practice poses a risk to human safety and may have detrimental consequences on public health, including skin and respiratory conditions. The
police appealed to the public to inform about such illegal activities on Dial 100 or 87126-60703.
During an examination at a well-known restaurant in
rtc Cross Roads on Thursday,
ghmc food safety inspectors found shortcomings in the caliber of the
services provided. The
bjp Ramnagar Corporator had complained to the food safety officers, who then forwarded their inspection report to the
ghmc Commissioner. The
ghmc assistant food controller reported that the restaurant's storage room was filthy and unclean, and that food preparation ingredients were discovered on the kitchen floor. The kitchen floor was oily and damp, and the food
workers lacked masks, hair nets, and gloves.
