KCR Family Out of Parliament
Since the party's founding, K. Chandrashekar Rao's family has represented BRS nationally. This will be the first time since BRS's founding that the party won't be represented in parliament by a member of KCR's family. In the 2004 general elections, kcr was elected to the Lok Sabha, following the formation of trs (formerly known as BRS) in 2001. He ran for the election on behalf of Karimnagar. kcr ran for the seat in mahbubnagar in 2009 and won.
KCR ran for the medak seat in 2014 and won it as well. However, he left his position as Telangana's chief minister after taking office that year. Nonetheless, as the nizamabad MP from 2014 to 2019, his daughter kavitha represented the party in the Lok Sabha. Dharmapuri aravind defeated kavitha for the nizamabad MP seat in 2019. However, kcr chose not to run for Lok Sabha. However, as a rajya sabha MP, his nephew Joginipally Santosh reddy represented both the family and the party.
On april 2, Santosh's term as a rajya sabha member came to an end. No kcr family members are running in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The family is also not represented in the rajya sabha by anyone. Thus, KCR's family will not be present in parliament for the first time in twenty years. The family will not have representation in parliament for the next five years as no one is running for the Lok Sabha.
