Chaitra navratri is observed in march or april on the Hindu calendar.
Ram Navami falls on april 17 this year. Drik Panchang claims that since Lord ram was born around noon, or the Madhyanha hour, this is the most auspicious time to carry out ram Navami puja ceremonies.
