South Star’s Bollywood PR Exposed?

G GOWTHAM
A prominent trade analyst's prediction in a bollywood media story yesterday that stars like Prabhas, Allu Arjun, NTR, ram Charan, Kamal Haasan, and Suriya will revive the box office this year created quite a commotion. The article emphasised the dearth of expensive films available in hindi theatres and predicted that the South indian film industry will bridge this disparity in the upcoming months, saving Bollywood.

Potential game-changers included forthcoming films like Suriya's Kanguva, Allu Arjun's pushpa 2, NTR's Devara, Kamal Haasan's indian 2, Prabhas' kalki 2898 AD, and ram Charan's Game Changer. But some astute observers noted that the trade expert may have been swayed by a South indian celebrity's PR staff. The story was allegedly planned by the star's public relations team to boost their client's profile by connecting him to more well-known brands in the North indian market.

One actor in particular sticks out as being less well-known in the North than the others. Though he might not be as well-known in the hindi belts as the other five, his PR team purposefully added him to improve his image. PR tactics have their place, but this one appears to have backfired because it's rather clear who the actor is. Good public relations should be so subtle that people never notice it's PR.
