IMD hyderabad forecasts rainfall across telangana on polling day

According to the government, there will be rain throughout the state on May 13, the day of the lok sabha elections.

The election commission of india (ECI) had earlier extended polling hours for the lok sabha elections by one hour, from 7 am to 6 pm, due to the ongoing heatwave conditions in Telangana.

According to a notice released by the commission, the extended voting period would be used in all assembly segments of the 12 lok sabha seats, but only in some assembly segments for the five remaining parliamentary seats.

Currently, the state is anticipated to have significant rainfall on Monday, according to the most recent forecast from IMD Hyderabad.

Rainfall lowers temperature

Some telangana areas have seen cooler temperatures as a result of recent rains. The telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) reports that the state's highest temperature, in Nagarkurnool, fell to 33.7 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in hyderabad dropped to 36.1 degrees Celsius, which was also noted in Khairatabad.

It is yet unclear how Telangana's significant rainfall projected by IMD hyderabad would impact the state's voting turnout on election day.
