Since the commencement of the IPL, the hyderabad squad has won two titles, both of which have been captained by Australian players. Under Adam Gilchrist's captaincy, the Deccan Chargers won the IPL in 2009, returning from a disappointing first season in which they finished last.
The return of Andrew Symonds, Rohit Sharma's revival, and Gilchrist's leadership strengthened the team. David Warner, a well-known Australian cricketer, captained Sunrisers hyderabad to victory in 2016. Under his great leadership, they were declared champions after defeating royal challengers Bangalore in the final, finishing with 11 victories and six defeats. In 2024, Pat Cummins, another Australian cricketer, will command SRH. His leadership has been tremendous, helping the club get to the finals after defeating the rajasthan Royals in the qualifier. This is SRH's third finals participation.
Cummins' influence extends beyond his leadership on the field. His acquisition, along with Travis Head, established the groundwork for SRH's revival after missing the playoffs for three seasons. Despite placing last in 2023, Cummins' arrival has resulted in a stunning turnaround for the franchise. With the IPL final versus KKR approaching, Cummins has the chance to enter the ranks of renowned bowling leaders such as Shane Warne by ending the season with the most wickets and winning the prized trophy.
