7 babies killed in fire at Delhi children's hospital - Case against Owner
A major fire at a children's hospital in Delhi's Vivek vihar district on saturday night claimed the lives of at least seven newborns, according to authorities. There were 12 babies at the hospital, one of them was already dead, six perished as a result of the fire, and the other five were sent to another hospital for treatment, according to police.
The delhi police have filed a FIR against naveen Kichi, the proprietor of the New Born Baby Care Hospital, under Sections 336 (endangering the life or personal safety of others), 304A (death by carelessness), and 34 (criminal conduct) of the IPC. He is now fleeing. A police team has been sent to Jaipur, where Kichi is thought to be hiding.

In a short statement, DCP Shahdara stated that "12 neonates were admitted to the hospital. They were all rescued and sent to the east delhi Advance NICU Hospital in Vivek vihar for treatment. Six of these infants were confirmed dead, with one dying earlier. The seven bodies have been sent to GTB Hospital for autopsy."
At around 11.30 p.m. on saturday, the Vivek vihar police station received a PCR report detailing the fire at the New Born Baby Care Hospital and an adjacent structure.
Top police officers went to the scene to investigate the event, while the delhi fire services despatched 16 fire tenders. The wildfire was put out in the early hours of Sunday.
