Andhra Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer, mukesh Kumar Meena, has issued a circular clarifying that postal ballot votes are legitimate even without the Returning Officer's signature and seal.

The letter stressed that if a postal ballot paper lacks a gazetted official signature or seal, it should not be ruled invalid. The party's MP, Niranjan reddy, filed a complaint with India's Chief election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, about this letter.
 
  Niranjan reddy contended in his lawsuit that allowing postal ballot ballots without a seal to be acceptable violates election commission norms. He further claimed that collecting attested officials' samples signatures violates election commission standards and may result in the rejection of postal ballot votes. The ycp requested that the ECI study mukesh Kumar Meena's memo and reconsider its judgement. According to political experts, despite the complaint, the decision is unlikely to be withdrawn.
