According to the official United Nations website, "Droughts may affect over three-quarters of the world's population by 2050 if urgent action is not taken." The frequency and duration of droughts have increased by 29% since 2000. As the worldwide host for World Environment Day in 2024, the Kingdom of saudi arabia is reiterating its commitment to upholding the objectives of Vision 2030 by promoting sustainable development and environmental protection.
