Revenge Politics Begins in AP
Cable providers began blocking television news networks including sakshi tv, TV9, NTV, and 10TV on Thursday, allegedly on orders from the tdp leadership. These channels had taken a pro-YSR congress stance throughout the previous five years and were airing anti-TDP content.
According to reports, the Cable tv Operators' Association unanimously decided to permanently block these stations. The tdp leadership appears to have concluded that these networks were still airing anti-TDP news and opinions and had not changed their practices even after the election results.
"How can they keep going after the tdp and its leader, N Chandrababu Naidu, even before he became the state's chief minister? We have had to restrict networks like TV5 and abn for the past five years," a cable operator remarked.
Simultaneously, all government offices, village secretariats, and gramme panchayats have been instructed to cease sakshi newspaper subscriptions, which were mandated for the previous five years.
According to reports, "this is expected to result in a sharp decline in Sakshi's daily circulation."
