‘BJP should sit in opposition,’ says Subramanian Swamy

Subramanian Swamy, the head of the bjp, has proposed that the saffron party should form an opposition rather than a government. "In the past, e.g., 1989–1990, 1998–2004, bjp was in an alliance but came to grief and were catastrophes for bjp,” he claimed in favor of his proposal. He said on his X account, "BJP should thus sit in opposition and lower the I.N.D.I.A dusty government
 

Modi must step aside, says Subramanian Swamy
In another tweet, he wrote that PM Modi must step aside since the bjp, led by him, failed to cross the majority mark of 272.
He wrote, “Modi must step aside since bjp led by him fell below the majority of 272 at or around 240.”
“Any self-respecting leader would resign and not wait to be pushed out,” he added.

PM to take oath on Saturday

Following the 18th lok sabha elections, in which the opposition india alliance won 234 seats and the BJP-led nda narrowly defeated the majority with 293 seats, PM Modi is expected to take the oath of office on june 8.
 
Tuesday was the day for the 2024 lok sabha election tallying. The election commission of india reports that the bjp secured 240 seats, significantly fewer than their 2019 total of 303 seats.
 
In contrast, the primary opposition congress had significant expansion in 2019, gaining 99 members as opposed to 52.
