Automatic red-light violation detection cameras are expected to be installed in karimnagar starting on june 15. As part of the karimnagar Smart City program, traffic signaling systems have been installed in 24 locations around the town to control traffic. The traffic signaling system was also launched six months ago. The public's complaints about long waits at traffic lights prompted the government to halt the previous system and resume it with shorter wait times.

Despite the introduction of the signaling system, some drivers still disregard traffic signals. Therefore, the installation of automatic red-light infraction detection cameras at traffic signals is the decision of the authorities. A few busy locations have been highlighted by officials, including the mancherial Crossroads, SRR College, Naka Crossroads, Ramnagar, Collectorate Chowk, telangana Chowk, district bus terminus, and R&B guest home.

All traffic infractions, such as speeding, signal jumping, taking the wrong route, using a mobile while driving, reckless driving, triple riding, and failing to wear a seatbelt or helmet, will be captured by the cameras. The images captured by the cameras will be sent to an automated control room, from where they will be concurrently shared with police and RTA officials.

By confirming the texts, the police would clear them. Owners of the vehicles will get messages on their phones requesting payment of a fee for breaking traffic laws when the police release them. To monitor vehicle violations of traffic laws, authorities have chosen to install 174 CCTV cameras and 85 automated red-light violation detection cameras as part of the Integrated Traffic Management system.
