Today is Sundar Pichai, the CEO of google, 52 years old. Sundar Pichai, who was born in Madurai, tamil Nadu in 1972, graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineering. After that, he relocated to the US to obtain an MS in materials science and engineering at Stanford University. After that, he graduated with an MBA from the university of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, where he was also recognised as a Palmer Scholar and a Siebel Scholar.
In an interview, he recalled his early years in Madurai, saying, "We would sleep on the living room floor." When I was growing up, there was a drought, and we experienced worry. I still find it impossible to fall asleep without a bottle of water beside my bed. My life was simple, which was lovely in contrast to the modern world.
2004 saw Sundar Pichai join Google. Prior to joining google, Sundar Pichai oversaw the innovation and product management teams for a number of the company's client software products, including Chrome and Chrome OS. He was also apparently in charge of google Drive. In 2015, he was appointed CEO of the business.
Sundar Pichai recently remarked, "I perceived our lives through the arrival of gadgets," in reference to his parents. We had to wait five years to get a phone—a rotary phone. However, it altered our life when it got to our house. When we got our first TV, I recall being able to watch sports right away.
"I used to bike a long way to school; the bike had no gears, so I had to ride uphill," he said. I was amazed when I finally received a bike with gears after a long time! What a striking distinction. I never considered technology to be a given. I've always believed that technology can have a positive impact.
