NEET paper leak: 4 arrested in Maharashtra
According to sources, maharashtra police on sunday detained four persons, two of whom were instructors, in relation to the purported NEET undergraduate medical entrance test question paper leak.
Sanjay Tukaram Jadhav and Jalil Umarkhan Pathan, two Latur-based teachers, were taken into custody by the Nanded Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on saturday on suspicion of being involved in the fraud. After being questioned and freed on sunday morning, they were subsequently detained again with two other people: a delhi resident known as Gangadhar and Iranna Mashnaji Kongalwar of the Dharashiv area.

The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 includes four provisions under which a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed. According to the FIR, the defendants operated a scheme whereby they offered pupils exam information in return for cash.
After learning about Jadhav and Pathan's involvement in these operations, the ATS searched their homes. Suspicious texts about test hall passes and money transactions on their phones were found throughout the inquiry.

"The investigation suggests that Jadhav might have passed on the hall ticket details to Kongalwar, who then forwarded them to Gangadhar in delhi, suspected to be the mastermind behind the leak," according to a police source.
To look into the matter more thoroughly, the Latur Deputy Commissioner of police has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Applicants have protested the NEET-UG exam amid claims of a leaked question paper and the awarding of grace marks to over 1,500 applicants. Later, a retest was administered to the impacted students and the grace marks were eliminated.
