The people of the two telugu States are responding very poorly to the Pradhan Mantri surya Ghar Yojana, which aims to give rooftop solar electricity subsidies to 1 crore residential homes nationwide.

The telugu States' Medchal-Malkajgiri district received the most applications (2,266), while the Rajanna sircilla district received the fewest (3). With 1,315 applications, kakinada district in andhra pradesh received the most, while Alluri district received the fewest, with 178. Just 1,296 applications were received from Greater Hyderabad, compared to 18,452 applications from Gujarat's ahmedabad area.
Individuals are expressing interest in installing rooftop solar panels since other States' governments are providing subsidies in addition to the federal government's incentives. On the other hand, residents in the telugu States have not shown an interest in installing rooftop solar panels as a result of the government's lack of extra incentives.
The Energy Department officials assert that many middle-class homes were not as interested in installing rooftop solar panels because the State was offering free power up to 200 units per month under the Gruha jyothi scheme. Even in ap, SCs and st community members were receiving 101 units of free power as free electricity. The State government intended to address the problems with rooftop solar capacity increase through the new rooftop solar plan, but according to an official, many people don't seem to be interested in switching to solar power because of the free electricity program.
The Pradhan Mantri surya Ghar Yojana will provide a subsidy of Rs 30,000 for a 1 KW system, Rs 60,000 for a 2 KW system, and Rs 78,000 for a 3 KW system or more, based on the current benchmark prices.
