FSSAI Bans 111 Spice Villains!!
The crackdown began in april when singapore and hong kong dropped a bombshell, banning popular indian spice brands MDH Pvt. Ltd and Everest Food Products Pvt due to the presence of the carcinogenic pesticide ethylene oxide. As if that wasn’t enough to ruffle feathers, FSSAI's hawk-eyed inspectors swooped down on spice producers, collecting samples faster than you can say "turmeric latte."
The spice villains hail predominantly from kerala and tamil Nadu, with Gujarat, Maharashtra, and madhya pradesh also in the spotlight. The guilty parties, mostly small-scale firms, have been caught red-handed, mixing spices with unsavory adulterants like starch, sawdust, artificial colors, and chemical dyes. These shortcuts might bulk up the product and cut costs, but they also compromise the quality and safety of these beloved spices.
