Telangana - QR code on electricity bill to ease payments
Customers may use their phones to scan a printed QR code located at the bottom of the bill to pay the remaining balance using debit and credit cards, UPI, and net banking. The NPDCL, operating under the Mattewada electricity Revenue Offices (EROs) in warangal and Bhupapally, first implemented this technology as an experimental project.
In the upcoming days, the bills with QR codes will be launched in all districts under the jurisdiction of the NPDCL, including Karimnagar, warangal, Adilabad, Khammam, and Nizamabad, according to officials.
They said that the QR code method will work well since a fresh code will be produced each month and can only be used once.
Bills may be paid using the company's mobile app or website: MeeSeva, TG/AP Online, paytm PG, PGI, TA Wallet, T Wallet, Bill Desk (NACH), and TA Wallet. It is important to remember that iphone users cannot download the app.
By RBI directives, banks, PhonePe, paytm, and google pay have already ceased to accept bill payments.
The only population in the city that pays their power bills via third-party applications is probably going to be impacted. To pay their bills, the majority of residents in the state still go to Meeseva centers.
