Not Harry Potter, Nag Ashwin was inspired by these Hollywood films

Filmmaker nag ashwin recently revealed that, when creating his science fiction movie kalki 2898 AD, he drew inspiration from two hollywood productions. kalki 2898 AD is still a box office hit. But it wasn't Harry Potter. We grew up watching Marvel flicks, Ashwin said in a recent interview with Zoom. In my opinion, Prabhas's persona was influenced more by Guardians of the Galaxy than by iron Man. Undoubtedly, Star Wars has had a significant impact. My style is subtly influenced by my passion of Star Wars.
 

But the director did provide some facts regarding kalki in 2898 AD. He revealed that the iconic Harry Potter character Sirius Black—played by Gary Oldman in the films—is the source of inspiration for Vinay Kumar's character Sirius.
 
Earlier, Ashwin responded to kalki 2898 AD's connection to Denis Villeneuve's 2021 blockbuster Dune in an interview with IndiaToday.in. Before the movie came out, I had never read Dune, and I believe it's a very great book. Indeed, I am an avid fan of Star Wars. Thus, I must have made some sort of unintentional reference," Ashwin said.
 

Actors Prabhas, amitabh bachchan, deepika Padukone, and kamal haasan are among the ensemble cast members leading kalki 2898 AD. In addition to earning over Rs 507 crore in India, the movie is gaining popularity abroad.
