Hyderabad’s IT Corridor - Traffic marshals are here to ease traffic congestions

SIBY JEYYA
To reduce traffic jams and enhance the commuter experience, the first group of 83 traffic marshals have arrived in Hyderabad's busy IT corridor. Here on Friday, the Society of Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) and the Cyberabad Traffic police, with the backing of several IT Parks and IT/ITes, inaugurated the project of Traffic Marshals. The first batch of traffic marshals was introduced by avinash Mohanty, the commissioner of police for Cyberabad, D. Joel Davis, the joint commissioner of police (traffic), and Ramesh Kaza, the secretary general of the SCSC.

These Traffic Marshals are employed by businesses, trained by law enforcement, and stationed at strategic intersections to facilitate everyday commutes for the public and provide a safe and secure atmosphere conducive to business growth.

Avinash Mohanty asked all businesses to work together to improve Cyberabad's traffic flow and smooth over the SCSC and its member firms' support for the program.

According to Joel Davis, the Traffic Marshals are a full-time, paid squad whose job it is to regulate traffic. They will be stationed close to all significant traffic bottlenecks. This facilitates the enforcement of traffic laws such as those about signal jumping, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving without a helmet, etc. by the Cyberabad Traffic Police.

The country's first-ever IT industry effort, Traffic Marshals is a unique project, according to Rajesh Balaraju, the designated head of the SCSC Traffic Forum. "Traffic in Cyberabad is increasing daily due to companies going back to work, and 83 traffic marshals have been commissioned to help address this issue," he stated. With industry assistance, the number of Traffic Marshals is expected to reach 500.

In response to the industry's request, Raheja Mind Space sent 30 Traffic Marshals. Over the next months, there will be an increase in deployment thanks to the commitments made by Phoenix, Satva Group, and IT firms.
