Bajrang Dal protests against reconstruction of Moinabad mosque
After a foundation was established for the restoration of the mosque, which was demolished on monday, July 22, by land grabbers, the Bajrang Dal announced a "Chalo Moinabad" protest. To avoid any disturbance, a significant number of police officers were deployed in response to the Bajrang Dal rally. The demonstrators vowed to demolish any long-term building that was being built there.
Officials from the TG Waqf Board, together with Muslim leaders and political party activists, had set up camp near the location of Masjid-e-Jagirdar since early in the morning.
While the entire area of land in Surveys 133 and 134 is more than 15 acres, the Waqf Board Gazette states that the Masjid-e-Jagirdar was given an area of 480 square yards (four guntas).
