Telangana - Survey shows 40.1% children aged 17-18 years not enrolled in colleges
A startling 22.1% of Telangana's youngsters between the ages of 14 and 18 have not registered in any school or institution, which is a worrying trend. According to the Socio-Economic Outlook 2024 figures, the percentage of males in the State who are not in school is 26%, compared to 17.4% for girls.

Regarding only schools, a recent study by the Department of school education found that 16,683 students—11,405 in elementary school and 5,278 in secondary school—were not enrolled in class.
