Telangana - Congress to celebrate 30 years of Muslim reservation
Despite legal challenges, hyderabad DCC President Mohammed Waliullah sameer and senior leader Mateen Shareef emphasised the policy's benefits, claiming that it has helped almost 20 lakh impoverished Muslims by providing a 4% quota in jobs and education during 2004–05.
A five percent Muslim reservation was promised by congress President sonia gandhi in the party's 2004 platform. chief minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara reddy and shabbir ali instituted a 5 percent reservation under GO Ms. No 33 after regaining office; however, following legal disputes, the percentage was subsequently lowered to 4 percent.
In addition to media outreach and grassroots initiatives, the next festivities will include a big event on august 25 that will involve participation from Muslim representatives and senior congress officials, as well as a documentary and picture exhibition. We'll shortly make more announcements.
