Muhammad Yunus is set to take oath on august 8, 2024, at 8 p.m.,

His advisory team may consist of 15 members. Notably, in light of recent events, the bangladesh High Commission in delhi has "postponed" the august 15 observance marking the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur rahman in 1975. Additionally, a Bangladeshi court has overturned Muhammad Yunus and three others in a case related to labor law violation.

On Wednesday, august 7, 2024, army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman announced in a press conference that an interim government led by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus will be sworn in at 8 p.m. on Thursday. The 84-year-old microfinance pioneer is expected to arrive at the Hazrat Shahjalal international Airport in Dhaka on an Emirates flight from dubai on the afternoon of the same day, according to a press release from the Yunus Center.

In a statement, Mr. Yunus encouraged the youth to remain calm and prepare to contribute to rebuilding the country. He congratulated the courageous students who played a leading role in making the "Second victory Day" possible and thanked the people for their full support. He emphadata-sized the need to take advantage of the new victory and avoid letting it slip away due to mistakes.

Furthermore, the Labour Appellate Tribunal overturned a six-month jail sentence imposed on Mr. Yunus in a case involving an alleged violation of labor law.

Meanwhile, the bangladesh Nationalist party (BNP), the main opposition party during former prime minister Sheikh Hasina's tenure, organized a rally at Naya Paltan in Dhaka, attracting thousands of people from different parts of the country.
