jawaharlal nehru university Vice Chancellor Shantishree Dhulipad Pandit told during a conversation with a private newspaper that JNU is facing a lack of funds. JNU is currently under a huge financial burden. And due to this, the university is now thinking of selling some of its properties. This will give the university an income of around 50000 to 1 lakh every month. The university is considering a proposal to talk to the Ministry of education in this regard.

Rent will be taken from the institutes built in the university campus

Along with this, Vice Chancellor Shantishree Dhulipad Pandit said that a total of 12 institutes are run in the jawaharlal nehru university campus. All of them are being run without paying rent. But now the university is thinking of a plan to take rent from those institutions every month. So that the financial burden on the university can be reduced. She said that planning is also being done to install solar panels in the university. So that the burden of electricity bills can be reduced. Most of the university's expenses are spent on electricity bills. Increasing the fees of students is not an option. That is why the university will have to take this step.
