Pakistan Mall: Everything vanished in half an hour!

A shopping mall named Dream Bazaar was to be inaugurated in Karachi, Pakistan. Discounts were also kept to make its opening grand but the Pakistani people turned it into chaos. The day which started with the promise of selling goods at a price less than 50 Pakistani rupees ended with violence and vandalism. Pakistan's first mega thrift store was heavily promoted on social media. On the day of inauguration, huge discounts were kept on clothes, accessories and household items. When thousands of people gathered outside the mall, the management had to struggle a lot to control the growing crowd.

The crowd vandalized the mall

According to the report of ARY News, when they tried to close the doors to control the situation, people with sticks forcefully broke the glass entry gate. The situation became so dire that the traffic of the city came to a standstill and thousands of people were seen standing outside the mall. Eyewitnesses said there was a lot of damage to property. Some people alleged that there was no police presence, while others said that the police were attacking passersby.

Everything vanished in half an hour

During the vandalism, people made videos of people stealing clothes. Another eyewitness said that all this happened within half an hour. He opened the shop at 3 pm and by 3:30 pm all the goods were stolen. It is said that this building was built by a Pakistani-origin person living abroad. The mall staff was also shocked by the vandalism. "We brought it for the benefit of the people of Karachi. But instead of a smooth opening, we were met with chaos. There is very little investment in Karachi and when it happens, this is the result," lamented an upset employee.
