ED raids 3 locations in Bengal linked to financial fraud at RG Kar hospital
Nationwide demonstrations were sparked in august of this year after a 31-year-old trainee physician was brutally raped and killed at the government-run RG Kar Medical Centre and Hospital.
Sources claim that the residence of a cousin of Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical Centre and Hospital, was among the locations raided by the central investigative agency in Hooghly.
Regarding the financial misbehavior at RG Kar Medical college, the cbi has filed a formal complaint under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, charging criminal conspiracy, cheating, and dishonesty. These cases include crimes that can be prosecuted and do not allow for bail.
Dr. Ghosh was taken into the custody of the investigating agency after being detained by the cbi on september 2 in connection with the corruption case.
