A guy aboard a Malaysian airlines flight made a threat to blow up the aircraft in a video that went viral on social media, demanding that his fellow passengers and the cabin crew acknowledge that they were slaves to Allah. The passenger, who went by the name Mohammad, caused so much trouble that flight MH122, which was headed for Kuala Lumpur, had to return to Sydney, Australia. There were five crew members and 194 passengers aboard the aircraft. The Australian Federal police detained the man once he returned to Sydney.

The person is seen standing in the aisle in the widely shared footage. He has a bag on his chest and is dressed in a light blue T-shirt. "My name is Mohammed, the slave of Allah," he shouted, threatening both the passengers and the cabin crew. He also demanded that other passengers repeat the same words. He is heard saying, "Are you a slave of Allah, say it, say it."

The passenger allegedly continued by threatening to detonate the aircraft. According to media accounts, when the flight crew investigated his backpack later on, they discovered no bombs within.

Malaysian airlines claimed in a statement that the aircraft was turned around because there was a “disruptive passenger onboard” in reference to the flight's return to its base.

"The flight commander decided to head back to Sydney for the sake of safety."

At 3:47 PM, the aircraft, which had five crew members and 194 passengers on board, made a safe landing. At malaysia airlines, we take the safety and well-being of our personnel and passengers very seriously," they continued.
