Since the united states opened its doors to Master's students following the COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of students have arrived and are finding it difficult to remain in the country. Those who are fortunate enough to be selected in the H1B lottery are under pressure to find employment. A screenshot of a job post is making the rounds on WhatsApp, but we were unable to confirm its veracity. An employer in Mphasis, texas posted a Java job posting that specifically states, "No Andhra, Telangana, and JNTU graduates." This is blatant discrimination, and if someone files a lawsuit, the business data-faces jail time.
Conversely, phony interviews irritate employers as well. Voice interviews were the most popular method of interviewing before COVID. However, after COVID, a lot of Desi employers have been claiming that Master's students in the U.S. are doing proxy interviews by lip-syncing while someone else speaks via Zoom video conversations. students are coming up with creative methods to cheat in interviews, so it's becoming a major nuisance. students often voice complaints about Desi companies that take advantage of them, pay minimum hourly rates, lock them in, and offer to file for H1B and Green Cards.
In any event, it's unfortunate for both Desi employers and students that this widely shared job posting is genuine, even though they are being held accountable for different reasons. It just serves to expose them and casts a negative light on other Indians.
