CBI Summons Two Suspended Doctors Linked to Sandip Ghosh
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summoned Dr. Avik Dey and Dr. Birupak Biswas for questioning on saturday in connection with the RG Kar rape and murder case. Both doctors are believed to have close ties to Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical college Hospital, who is currently in cbi custody.
The CBI’s interest in Dr. Dey and Dr. Biswas intensified after their names surdata-faced in various audio recordings. In one clip, Dr. Dey reportedly threatens fellow students and junior doctors. Meanwhile, Dr. Biswas was allegedly present at RG Kar on the day of the incident, august 9, despite lacking a valid reason to be there, according to junior doctors.
Both doctors have been suspended by the West bengal health department. The cbi informed a kolkata court on friday that additional suspects have emerged during the investigation, and their involvement is currently being examined.
Dr. Dey, formerly a Resident Medical Officer at Burdwan Medical college, is now a first-year postgraduate trainee in surgery at IPGMER. Dr. Biswas, a senior resident doctor in pathology, was transferred to Kakdwip Sub-Divisional Hospital last august after previously working at Burdwan Medical College.
