Three female Naxalites and one male Naxalite have surrendered in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. A total reward of Rs 20 lakh was announced on these Naxalites. police gave this information. police said that along with this, under the 'Loan Varratu' (a word spoken in the local Gondi dialect which means return to your home or village) campaign started in june 2020, so far 872 Naxalites have left the path of violence in Dantewada.
Naxalite husband and wife surrendered
Superintendent of police Gaurav Rai said that four Naxalites including a couple have surrendered before senior police officers in Dantewada. He said that out of these, Hunga Tamo alias Tamo surya (37) and his wife Aayiti Tati (35) were active in the regional company number 2 of the Maoists and a reward of Rs 8 lakh each was announced on their heads.
Women Naxalites had rewards worth lakhs on their heads
Dantewada Superintendent of police Gaurav Rai said that he was allegedly involved in the attack on security personnel in the forests of Pamde (Bijapur) on the Chhattisgarh- telangana interstate data-border in the year 2018. He said that two female Naxalites Deve alias Vijje (25) and Madvi have also surrendered. According to Superintendent of police Gaurav Rai, a reward of Rs 3 lakh was on the surrendered female Naxalite Deve alias Vijje, similarly a reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced on Madvi.
Those who surrender will get the benefit of rehabilitation
Gaurav Rai said that these four people living in neighboring Sukma district have been given assistance of Rs 25,000 each and they will be rehabilitated as per the government policy.
656 Naxalites have surrendered this year
In the last few years, during the anti-Naxal operation, the soldiers have got great success on the Naxalite front. The scope of Maoists has reduced due to the continuous action of the soldiers. So far in the year 2024, the bodies of 153 Naxalites have been recovered during different operations, 669 of them have been arrested. While the number of Naxalites who have surrendered before the police by leaving the path of violence is 656.
