Sources have indicated that one of Mahalakshmi's coworkers is the primary suspect in her supposed murder, which has caused widespread shock in the country, as reported by the Bengaluru Police. According to police sources, on wednesday it was reported that Mukti and Mahalakshmi were identified as colleagues.
The sources stated that Mukti had voiced his disapproval of Mahalakshmi's intimacy with another man. police sources refused to disclose the identity of the individual. Mahalakshmi's husband, who she is separated from, mentioned earlier this week that he believed Ashraf, who he had recognized as her boyfriend, might be involved.
On september 21, the corpse of Mahalakshmi, a 29-year-old saleswoman, filled with maggots, was discovered in the fridge of her one-bedroom flat in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru. police sources report that the object was cut into more than 50 pieces.
Authorities said Mukti's phone was turned off, and they were working to locate him in the vicinity of the Odisha-West bengal data-border. police sources did not disclose Mukti's surname. On september 23, karnataka Home minister G Parameshwara announced during a press conference that the primary suspect in the case was originally from odisha but had been residing in Bengaluru. The police have not arrested him yet and believe he is currently residing in West Bengal.
It has been reported that Mahalakshmi was last seen at work on september 1. According to her family members, her mobile phone had been turned off since september 2. Her mother and elder sister found the body at Mahalakshmi's residence on september 21.

The fingerprints on the refrigerator were also under investigation by the forensics team.
