Sequel Mania - Lack of Ideas or Money Making Trick?

G GOWTHAM
We are able to observe a continuous trend of sequels that have taken the box office by storm in the present bollywood film landscape. Filmmakers are profiting from their remakes and the enduring appeal of legendary box office blockbusters one after the other.

There has been rumors of sequels to hit theaters, including Gadar 2, stree 2, dream girl 2, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Singham Again, and many more. Many of them have already proven to be hits, and many more are the subject of intense discussion even before they are released. The main ploy used by filmmakers is the nostalgia or recall value of blockbuster movies. They may effortlessly captivate viewers who are devoted to the core of the movie by maintaining the same atmosphere in their follow-up. Furthermore, they don't have to put in a lot of effort to establish the locations, characters, or backstory.

Even if fans adore the majority of these movies, this does not ensure that the movie will be a hit. Filmmakers have started producing half-baked, formulaic movies that no longer amaze audiences because they misinterpreted their demand for extremely popular movies. Movies like Border 2, Singham Again, Brahmastra 2, and Housefull 5 need to realize that memorable performances and strong narratives are just as important as recall value. These ventures may also be a complete failure if they fall short of the expectations of the audience.
